Coffman Wins Pro Late Models; Neat, Lee, and Grant Declared Winners at Ponderosa Speedway
Junction City, KY-April 16, 2010- Ponderosa Speedway would again present another evening of wide-open clay slinging race action on Friday evening, but Mother Nature would bring an end to the racing activities early after Todd Coffman of Junction City, KY won the Bob Allen Motor Mall Pro Late Model main event and after six laps were completed in the Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Model feature event, Dustin Neat of Dunnville, KY was declared the winner of the rain-shortened event. All drivers in the Super Late Model division will have a checked mailed to them on Monday morning for the amount of money for the spot in which they were running when the caution flew for rain and the race was declared over. The Clayton Homes UMP Modified and D&D Pallet Recyclers UMP Sportsman division drivers were paid by the way they were to start their respective feature events, with Benji Lee of Loretto, KY credited with first place in the Clayton Homes UMP Modified feature and Bartley Grant of Berea, KY credited with the win in the D&D Pallet Recyclers UMP Sportsman feature.
The 20 lap Bob Allen Motor Mall Pro Late Model feature race would see an pair of early race cautions, but action would settle down and Todd Coffman would take the race lead and never relinquish the top spot and would drive away to almost a full straightaway victory aboard his King Clean/Coffman Photography/Cook’s Collectibles/Two Brothers Café/A Breath of Fresh Air/Harrod Farms/Bottom Line Tax and Bookkeeping/Hurst Racing/Central Kentucky Log Cabins sponsored #35 C.J. Rayburn Race Car, GM604 powered mount. Defending track champion Jeremy Hines would finish second, with Gary Yeager taking third. John Mulligan would garner fourth place honors, while Kevin Colston would complete the top five. The remainder of the top ten would be Jeff Rawlings, Clarence Belcher, Billy Wooldridge, Timmy Taylor, and Mike Bechelli. Coffman would also be top qualifier among 13 entries at 14.391 seconds and also win the dash, while Colston won the heat.
The Good Neighbor Pharmacy Super Late Model feature saw Dustin Neat jump to the race lead and hold the top spot until the caution flew on lap 6 as the rain showers that had began to fall during the Pro Late Model feature got heavier, eventually greasing up the racing surface and making it unsafe for the competitors. Neat was declared the winner of the event in his Red Buck Cigars/Neat’s Service Center/D&R Livestock sponsored #25 MasterSbilt Race Car, Estes Race Engines mount. Second through fifth would be Victor Lee, David Webb, D.J. Wells, and Michael Chilton. The remainder of the top ten were Whitney McQueary, Chris Combs, Jeff Watson, Dylan Preston, and Wesley Brummett. In preliminary action, Neat was the top qualifier among 13 entries at 14.319 seconds and also won the dash, while Watson grabbed the checkered flag in the heat.

In preliminary events, Lee was top qualifier among the 8 entries at 15.599 seconds and also won the heat.
