CORONA, CA (July 19, 2009) - The Empire State of New York will see the first ever visit by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series on Wednesday Night, July 29th at the Utica-Rome Speedway in Vernon, NY. There will be a complete show for the touring dirt late model series with PRC Time Trials, Heat Races, B-Mains and the $10,000 to win main event. "We are extremely pleased to bring the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series to Utica-Rome Speedway, it has such a rich heritage of racing, first on the asphalt and then the dirt, it also gives us a chance to promote Lucas Oil Products in the Northeast and we look forward to having a great show for the fans, many of whom will be seeing us for the first time," said Ritchie Lewis, Series Director for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series.
Utica-Rome Speedway first opened in 1961 as an asphalt track and was the home for many years for legendary nine-time NASCAR National Modified Champion, the late Richie Evans.
